At Whitsunday Christian College, we are committed to engaging every student in the digital age. Students and staff have access to a range of devices including digital smart boards, data projectors in every classroom, cameras and video cameras for teaching and learning purposes.

​Digital Technologies equips students to be confident, creative, and responsible users of technology. Lessons develop skills in problem-solving, computational thinking, and designing digital solutions to real-world problems. Students learn to create and communicate ideas using a range of digital tools, from coding and programming to multimedia and data management. They also explore how digital systems work, how information is stored and shared, and the importance of safe, ethical, and responsible technology use. This subject prepares students for a rapidly changing world where digital literacy is an essential life skill. In addition, it also provides a foundation for pathways in software development, cybersecurity, game design, digital media, and information technology.

All Year 3 to Year 12 students are provided with an individual laptop at no additional cost to families. Laptops are fully covered with necessary warranty support and accidental damage protection.

Cyber safety is an important aspect to our delivery of digital technologies and to the teaching we undertake in this area. Whilst we have a range of security, monitoring and filtering systems we encourage students to act wisely and responsibly when using technology.
