Whitsunday Christian College is an Independent, Non-denominational Christian school located in Cannonvale, Queensland, Australia. We welcome people from all faiths and are committed to serving families with quality education that helps recognise and develop their talents so they can flourish. Our College exists to give children and young people a life full of promise, purpose and hope.
We exist to enact Jesus’ purpose (John 10:10b NLT), “My purpose is to give people a rich and satisfying life.” In doing so, we strive to shape young men and women of character who are eager to live an adventurous life as they meet life’s challenges using their God given gifts and talents to lead and serve others in truth and grace.
Welcome to Whitsunday Christian College
The Christian Heart in Education
Whitsunday Christian College is proud to be the top performing school for both Primary and Secondary in the Whitsundays for 2019 NAPLAN results. Our Year 5 cohort was rated in the most improved for the Mackay, Whitsunday and ISAAC regions whilst our Year 9 cohort was the most improved for the region. We are extremely proud of this achievement, it confirms our commitment to teaching and nurturing our students.
Our College has implemented a school wide Learning Support Program that is bearing fruit, as well as offering class sizes that have smaller teacher to student ratio, in a learning environment that is deliberate in strong discipline with firm boundaries set in a culture of care and warmth. Being a school of just over 300 students from Prep – Year 12, enables students to be known by name. Our College has strong parent teacher partnerships enabling students to develop their character, a culture that enables students to fully engage in learning without distractions and provides many opportunities to excel in learning. We have recently embarked on a school wide improvement audit using the National Schools Improvement Tool framework as reference. We are looking forward to continuing our Christian culture, improving academics and enabling students in the Whitsundays to achieve and succeed.
