Values for Life

Children are a precious gift of God entrusted to their parents to nurture through to adulthood. The challenging and fulfilling task of raising children is made easier when supported by a school community that promotes the key values for life.

At Whitsunday Christian College, we want our children and young people to enjoy the benefits of pursuing values that allow them to flourish.

We strive to have our values clearly evident. Just like a picture says so much, we want our values to shine through in the character displayed by students at our school. In this way, the values we espouse are like pictures, or PICS.

  • Passion: Strive to do your best. Consistently give your all, even when the going gets tough. Seek to accomplish something worthy and admirable, work hard and pursue what you are passionate about. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” (Colossians 3:23)

  • Integrity: Tell the truth. Have strong principles and live by them so that your actions and words are consistent. Seek after what is right and stand up for what you believe in. Be a person of your word. “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.” (Proverbs 10:9)

  • Care: Be a person of compassion. Show grace by forgiving others. Work hard to ensure others are cared for and have a fair go, so that they are supported and inspired by the love that you show. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32)

  • Success: Everyone can succeed, regardless of their level of ability or disability. God has given you talents and particular strengths, and it is important that you use these to be all you can be. Celebrate your achievements. “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:9)
